Nail Care by Paula Taylor

healthy nails
Spring has sprung, time to take care of neglected hands and feet from the winter months. Here are some tips to get and keep your hands and feet soft and healthy.
Exfoliate dead winter skin from your hands and feet. To make an inexpensive scrub mix together:

1/2 cup of sugar or raw sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup of oil, i.e. jojoba or almond

Apply mixture generously to hands and feet, gently scrub in circular motion with hand. Rinse with warm water, pat dry, and you will have baby soft skin.

To avoid ingrown toe nails always cut and file nails straight across. If you have a painful, ingrown toe nail, try soaking your foot in warm water and Epsom salt.

To avoid dry cracked cuticles use cuticle oil or simply use almond oil or jojoba oil. Regular use will promote nail growth, strengthen nails and stop nails from peeling.

Always moisturize hands and feet. Try to moisturize before bed so that the lotion can penatrate into your skin throughout the night.

You can always see a nail care professional, sit back, relax and have the nail technician take care of your feet and hands for you.
